It is important to provide young people with age-appropriate Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) information. Furthermore, there is need to impart both adolescent boys and girl with knowledge and strategies on how they can ably take care of themselves if they are unable to abstain.
Thus, on April 13, 2023, YONECO organized an SRH session with 17 boys and 14 girls around Gondolo Village in Ntcheu. During the session, YONECO youth workers and the young participants discussed a number of SRHR issues including teen pregnancies, contraceptives and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).
Young people were also given a chance to seek answers to various questions which they have pertaining to SRH. During the session, it was noted that young people’s SRH challenges are fueled by misconceptions which are prevalent in the area.
